Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse

Open Tue, Thu, Fri and Sat 10-4pm Closed Sundays

Thank you for choosing to volunteer with the Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse.

Since before we opened our doors in May of 2011 The ERW has greatly and gratefully depended upon many a volunteer. We love our volunteers and we think the warehouse is one of the more interesting places to spend some free time doing community service. Tell us what you like to do and we’ll likely find something for you. We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available ranging from ongoing, to project-based, to one-time special events. It’s not all heavy lifting, though we advice wearing clothes you don’t mind tearing a hole through and require that you wear closed-toe shoes.

Here’s how it works:

1) READ our Safety Guidelines and SIGN a Release of Liability Waiver

You can do this at the warehouse during your Volunteer Orientation session or print it at home and bring with you. If you’re 18 or younger we need a parental/gaurdian signature.

2) Drop-in for a Volunteer Orientation

We’ll get you oriented during one of our volunteer sessions that run every Thursday. All you have to do is drop in for one 30 minute session of your choosing. Orientation sessions are available at 9:30am on the 1st and 2nd Thursdays OR at 4:00pm on the 3rd and 4th Thursdays of every month. Please arrive promptly!

3) Sign up for volunteer hours!

Click here to sign up for a 3-hour shift using our doodle calendar. Then, just come in and we’ll help you get busy and having fun helping around the warehouse.
